Yesterday afternoon Hog Bay CT participated in the Giro di Vicenza. For the first time in history the team actually tried to win a major race and team captain Gresham Witham even had five team mates for the occasion. Controlling the race from the beginning, Hog Bay still had Leo Wahl as super domestique for Witham at the foot of the final climb, the Monte Grappa. Suddenly upping the pace at the steepest part, Wahl dropped everyone from the lead group apart from Witham himself, Marco Italiano from CEPRA and Estanislao Bote from PR team. Witham proved to be clearly the strongest of this small group and rode away with the trophy, Hog Bay CT's first.
Meanwhile, we are still busy building the team. Tomorrow, Elmer Farrington will join, a very talented young climber. His full introduction will have to wait for another time though.
